National Statistics Available on Traffic Tickets

Are you a motorist who has received several traffic tickets in the past several years? You are obviously not alone.

Many drivers have found themselves pulled over by the highway patrol while on their way to work or elsewhere to receive a ticket. Check out the following statistics on traffic tickets in the United States:

· Are you a male driver who just can’t obey the speed limit? It should come as no surprise to you that men are 50 percent more times likely to put the pedal to the metal than a woman. That said, more women end up fighting their speeding tickets in traffic court than their male counterparts.

· Speeding tickets on average can leave you with $150 less in your wallet. That does not even include the hike in insurance rate premiums you will receive if you get one, two or more tickets. The more tickets that have been issued in your name, the higher the increase.

· Ever wondered what age bracket receives the most speeding tickets? It is usually teenagers and young adults ages 17 to 24.

· Are you a doctor? You might be suffering from lead foot syndrome. Doctors receive more speeding tickets than people in any other profession.

· 196 million people currently have driver’s licenses in the United States. Out of them, about 100,000 will receive a speeding ticket today. Add this up and about 41 million motorists on the road will get a ticket at some point this year.

· Didn’t contest your speeding ticket? You are not the only person. About 95 percent of motorists just pay their fines without ever taking the case to traffic court. Those who do fight end up having their fine reduced or even dismissed without ever having any points ending up on their driving record.

I find it interesting that nationally more woman fight their tickets. That is not the experience I have at all. I keep the demographic statistics of the people who retain me to contest there ticket, and only 7% of my clients are woman. Furthermore, most of those woman I never spoke to - it was their husband/boyfriend/father who contacted my office. I cannot at all account for this, as my advertising is gender neutral and the vast majority of my clients find me through a Google search or a lead service. It is possible that woman are safer drivers and get less tickets but not to the tune of only 7% of the tickets written are woman. If anyone has any ideas on how I can reach this market segment I'm all ears.
